Writing: Writing from a different point of view
Students will imagine they are Jamie’s mother, father, older brother John, or younger sister Mary. Using what the students already know from the selection, students will write a letter home from the point of view from the chosen character. Students will exchange letters by reading out the first two sentences and stop to give the chance to the other students to
predict what might happen next., and then read on to check their predictions. Store the story in their L.A Notebook.
