Artist Statement:
Baking with my mum when I was younger inspired me to create this artwork. I like using pastel rainbow colours as they look happy and soothing. Through my painting, I want to share the joy I get when I bake and have desserts with my family.
I feel happy looking at this artwork which is filled with bright contrasting colours, a reflection of the warm relationship between the mother and child. Sanda created this artwork as part of a lesson unit on the concept of ‘close-up’. The watercolour gradation was well executed! Well done, Sanda!
