Context of S2eAE

S2eAE, in short, stands for South 2 (Cluster schools) e-Art Exhibition.

During the pre-COVID19 days, the S2 Cluster schools participated in art learning by contributing artworks to the annual S2 Cluster Schools physical Art Exhibition hosted at Fairfield Methodist School (Primary). This platform served as an Art learning journey for many S2 students.

In order to keep this tradition alive although without physical learning journey where intermingling between schools were (then) not allowed, the S2 Cluster Arts Educators consisting of Art and Music teachers, creatively curated and created an online Art Exhibition. This project was initiated from July 2021.

Thus the birth of South 2 e-Art Exhibition - S2eAE, in short.

Objectives and Approach

Purpose:

This e-Art exhibition aims to expose our students to various art genres, concept and techniques created by their peers across Primary and Secondary school levels, and also encourages students to develop a habit of gratitude in affirming and appreciating the works of their fellow student artists in the S2 cluster schools.

Approach:

  • An e-gallery hosted on Art Steps featuring 38 students' works, categorized under 3 themes : Self, Environment and World.

  • To complement the e-gallery, this website allows students and teachers to view the artworks through the online catalogue with suggested bite-sized learning activities.

  • To broaden and deepen the learning for our audience, 6 SLS lessons were designed with artworks taken from this gallery to explore various art genres, techniques and concepts.
