Artist Statement:
The painting tells a story of a young person who changes himself to fit existing standards the society sets forth for him, but he doesn’t realize he should be looking inward through his own eyes. The main character would be the two figures of the same person.
The student has gone through different ways to interpret the topic given before deciding on the one in the painting. The process of creating the piece was also a very good learning journey for him. - Mr Tham Hong Wan

Balance refers to how the elements of art (line, shape, color, value, space, form, texture) relate to each other within the composition in terms of their visual weight to create visual equilibrium. That is, one side does not seem heavier than another.
