Artist Statement:

This artwork shows that time is precious and everyone should utilize time in the best possible way. Hence, the focus is on the big clock and the objects around it. The girl is staring at the clock as she has come to realize that most people take time for granted. This gives her a whole new perspective on life.

Yi Fang was able to express her thoughts cleverly by portraying her perspectives of the world and time through the different images. - Mdm Julie

One of the most referred to and appropriated artworks in history, 'The Persistence of Memory' is widely recognized for its 'melting clock'. The art work represents the unconsciousness in dreams, memory and the irrational - central to the theme of Surrealism in most of Dali's works.

For example, the famous melting clocks suggest that the concept of time loses its meaning in the unconscious world of sleep and dreams.
