Fresco de Tamarindo
1 1/2 cup of de-shelled sweet tamarindo
1 cup of hot water
5-6 cups of cold water
1/2 cup of brown sugar simple syrup
Simple syrup
1/2 cup of hot water
3/4 cup of sugar.
1.Break the shell of the tamarindo. Take out and devain the tamarindo. And place into a jar.
2.Fill with 1 cup of hot water. Close the lid and shake for 2 minutes. The water will thicken and make tamarindo concentrate.
3.Strain the concentrate into a pitcher.
4.Add the cold water, simple syrup, ice and enjoys!
Note: instead of doing the whole box for stronger flavor , you can also remove the seeds leaving the outer skin, blend and strain.
