Ingredients
3 tbsp of olive oil
1 cup onion
1/3 cups of carrot
1/3 cups of celery
1 cup of mushrooms
6 garlic cloves
1/3 cup of basil (Optional)
1 can (6oz) of tomato paste
17oz of Beef broth
1/3 cup of heavy cream
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp oregano
1/2 tbsp of red pepper flakes (Optional)
1/2 tsp of thyme
4 bay leaves
Meat Seasoning
1lb of ground beef
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of black pepper
1/2 tbsp of onion powder
1/2 tbsp of garlic powder
1.Dice the garlic, onion, carrots, celery and mushrooms.
2.Cut the basil and set aside.
3.To a hot pot or sauce pan add the olive oil and then add your diced vegetables. Sauté until they are slightly softened (about 3min)
4.Add the can of tomato paste,beef broth and heavy cream. Mix until well combined.
5.Add in the spices (salt, pepper, oregano, thyme and bay leaves) and basil. Mix and cook for another 3 minutes. Once finished set aside.
6.Season the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Cook until brown.
7.Add the meat into the red sauce and mix.
8.Boil your favorite pasta al dente (It should be 10-12 min). Don’t forget to season the water with salt.
9.You can mix the pasta into the meat sauce or serve separate. Garnish with Parmesan cheese.
Note: For rich flavor place 1-2 tbsp of butter on the strained pasta.
