Technological development has led to issues related to information and communication technology. These include privacy and safety, security of information, accuracy of information, information overload and copyright.
Have a discussion in regards to the above syllabus dot points and relate them to a piece of technology - The iphone. How has technological advancement led to these issues when an iphone is concerned?

- personal information shared/stored on social platforms or on devices may be hacked or fall into the wrong hands, compromising safety, security, identity & wellbeing
- anti-virus software, strong password protection & hardware such as surveillance cameras. motion sensors. alarm systems & electronic/remotely operated gates can protect individuals & property
- Despite such protective strategies, there are an equal number of counter devices and technologies used to work against the very things we are trying preserve eg hackers

- The security of personal information shared/stored online or on devices may be compromised by hackers
- Anti-virus software & strong password protection can protect individuals & their information
- Information technology is providing greater accessibility, mobility, convenience and, importantly, efficiency and productivity.
- Ultimately, technology will change faster than people's behaviour. Information security is enhanced through ongoing training, assessment, protection, monitoring, incident response and repair.

- With the wide range of information available on the internet. individuals need to be aware of the reliability of the sources & accuracy of the information they are consuming
- Although information can be found on social media, biogs, online forums. websites & more. Using current government recommended sources helps ensure the reliability of information
- Accuracy of information is achieved through data backup, data validation, access controls and input validation.

- The unprecedented access to technology of both view & create online content has the information to course an information overload
- This information includes that which is sourced online, data received through spam emails. messages. advertisements. algorithmic recommendations, choices in software & constant updates to hardware available on the market.
- Information overload is fast becoming a problem in the workplace, business and the home environment.

- The availability of resources such as books, music, photography, movies. art. advertising & student assignments leaves the protection of such sources at risk
- Despite the legislations & fines which attempt to combat copyright infringements. individuals/groups continue to breach such laws & regulations though the sharing, plagiarising & illegal downloading of such content
- Copyright provides legal protection for people who express ideas and information in certain forms. Technology makes it easy for people to duplicate or plagarise data without acknowledging the original copyright owner. Eg copy and paste
