Geography Update

Fieldwork

This module Year 13 Geography IB students had a fieldwork trip to Stratford in East London, to gather primary data that they could use for their coursework. As part of their IB coursework, they have to go to the real world to conduct surveys to find out if the regeneration Stratford experienced due to the 2012 Olympics has reduced levels of crime in the area. The students visited various locations around Stratford including the London Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford High Street and Stratford Station. At these locations the students completed graffiti scales, vandalism surveys, burgularibility indexes, environmental quality surveys and questionnaires with members of the public. Members of the public were very interested in the research the students were completing and eager to share their opinion on crime levels and the regeneration with Year 13.
