Whole school sports days - 2024

On the 17th and 18th June, The Leigh Academy sports days took place with every student in Year 7 - 10 taking part in at least one athletics event. The top two athletes from each college, in each event were then selected for the College Winners sports days that took place on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th June.

College Winners Sports Day - 2024

All four of our colleges worked extremely hard, across two very hot days, in the battle to be crowned: 2024 sports day college champions. This year Mandela College were outstanding across all  four year groups and much to Ms Forde's delight were the winners by a significant winning margin (team picture below):

Leigh Academies Trust (LAT)  Sports Day

On Tuesday 9th July, LAT Year 7 and 8 Sports Day took place at Dartford Harriers track. Although the weather was not ideal with lots of rain throughout, the performances from all teams were excellent and the Year 7 girls team won the trophy for 1st place, in competition against 17 other academies from within LAT. A truly remarkable result!

On Friday 12th July, the Year 9 and 10 teams took to the track and were equally as impressive with their performances. The Year 9 boys finished second in the boy's competition and the Year 10 girls finished in first place, which ensured that The Leigh Academy girl's team were victorious for the second year running, in the overall girls team award.
