Following the successful launch of the Spelling Bee last year, our new Year 7s have started taking part in the competition.
This year, The Leigh Academy will compete against other schools in the Trust, in Module 6.

We have been excited to offer our first overseas trip, this academic year, to the Lille Christmas Market to enjoy the Christmas decorations and take the opportunity to do our Christmas shopping too.

We went to the Christmas Market for lunch and we then headed to Euralille, a vast shopping centre, to meet Santa.

Year 9 and Year 10 Spanish classes have begun their correspondance with their pen pals.
This will lead to a series of video projects, in Modules 3 and 4, to introduce their local area and the school, ensuring that both sides of the pen pal divide learn all about their  'pal' and the kind of lives they lead.
