Engineering and Science students attended a talk, demonstration and general conversation with a local engineering firm from Dartford called Artic.  

Artic work with the RAF to produce a state of the art and race winning side car - can you spot the trophy in the middle of the desk? 

Students learnt not just about the vehicle, but also about extensive engineering work that the company do in large institutions in London. Students were inspired and many of them took ideas forward in their goals to secure valuable work experience with engineering firms. 

One of our ex-students, Danny, currently works for Artic and found out about his career opportunity at a stand like this, showing that not only do Leigh Academy students get into great career paths, but also future students have that opportunity, too. 

Students attended an assembly in Module 1 that introduced to them one of the unique moments in their school career, which is Work Experience, the slides of which are attached here. Many have returned completed forms already. Well done!

In Module 2 over half of students reported that they had reached out and contacted potential placements. 

Parents were able to book appointments to speak to Mr Hardaker to discuss their plans or gain further advice at the Year 10 Parents' Evening, too.
