I really believed that being a teacher is the most important job that could bring wealthy to the country as without them there would be no development. They play important roles to students as they are the ones who could brought them knowledge and wisdom, however this could not be possible if teacher could not motivate student during the teaching and learning processes and not using or applying teaching approaches properly.
From my previous experiences and after doing many observations, I have found out that all students were having different interests. In this case it is important to bear in mind that a teacher have to make their interest or need as their first priority and also help them satisfying each diverse motivational needs, what is meant here is that they must design learning experiences that stimulate each student interest and approaches that are deliberately encouraging participation in the learning and also providing variety of motivational strategies so that student with different abilities could all motivated in the learning or it is important for a teacher to understand and take account of different motivations for learning, this is because learners are not all motivated in the same way, as what interests one may not interest another. For example; when teaching any topics a teacher should come up with many activities to demonstrate that topic rather than just talking verbally to discuss it, letting them watch a movie that is related to the topic, playing games and providing concrete resources that are also related to the topic and etc in order to make it more understandable especially to the underachiever ones. By doing these they could engage and motivate student in the learning and also could stop the habit of skipping classes which is now the common issue in school.
I have also experienced that student could not learn if the lesson is boring, so to make the teaching and learning more interesting, a teacher should use these approaches; Problem-based learning, Inquiry-based learning, and Collaborative learning. These approaches are very essential as without applying them the lesson would never interesting, this is because, problem based learning is where it allows student to involves and working together to solve a problem, complete a task, or create a product while Inquiry-based learning is an approach to learning that emphasizes the student's role in the learning process rather than the teacher telling students what they need to know, students are encouraged to explore the material, ask questions, and share ideas whereas problem based learning is where students learn about a subject by working in groups to solve an open-ended problem. By applying these approaches they would make the learning more fun and interesting rather than only using a teacher centered approach.
In conclusion, it is important for a teacher to understand that student are not motivated in the same way as what interests one may not interest another, so they have to satisfy each student diverse motivational need, taking account of different motivations for learning not only that but also to help the learning more interesting, fun and understandable, teachers must not only used a teacher centered as their teaching approaches but try to apply the other teaching approaches just as problem based learning, inquiry based learning and collaborative leaning.
