The co-curricular programme at ISPP is designed to support the curricular programme. Involvement in all programmes including local events and trips involves time out of school (such as, but not limited to, MRISA Sports, MRISA Cultural, and Model United Nations), and representing ISPP in these arenas is considered a privilege. In order for a student to participate (training and local games), or to travel to tournaments and events, they must be in both good academic standing and good behavioural standing. Co-curricular travel may not cause a student to exceed the maximum number of absences allowed per semester (10).

Academic Standing is generally defined as not falling behind in any subject, working to potential, including demonstrating sufficient effort and productivity in class.

Good Behavioural Standing is generally defined as not having been involved in any major disciplinary incidents during the current school year.

Good Academci Standing will be determined by considering:

1. The most recent formal reporting period: any low grades or lack of sufficient effort will render a student ineligible to travel. For example, for a student wishing to travel in semester one, the previous semester report card may be considered.

2. The most recent ‘informal’ (i.e. three-way conferences) reporting period will be considered.

If a student is underperforming (less than a grade of 3) in any subject, or is showing lack of effort in any class, they may be ineligible to travel. The Activities Director will seek input from the Secondary Principal prior to making airline bookings.

If a student’s performance warrants consideration for travel, even though the student was ineligible at the previous formal reporting period, an appeal may be made to the divisional Principal. A student may make an appeal once in Grades 6 – 8, and once in Grades 9 – 12.

In cases of doubt, the final decision about a student's ability to travel will be made in conjunction by the Activities Director and divisional Principal.

The school strongly endorses student agency and self-advocacy. It is the individual student’s responsibility to have conversations with their teachers about class learning missed or assessments that may fall during that time. The Activities Director is responsible for notifying the teachers of all students who will be travelling.
