ISPP is a parent owned school, with nine voting board members. Their role is to monitor the educational and financial programmes at ISPP. The ISPP Director is hired by the Board of Trustees as the Chief Educational and Administrative Officer, and reporting to the Board. Standing and ad hoc committees, consisting of parents, teachers and Board members, contribute to the work of the Board.
The Board consists of up to nine (no less than five) voting Trustees of which;
a. four are elected by the Members of the ISPP Association;
b. five are appointed, with no more than three coming from outside the ISPP community.
Elected and appointed members serve two-year terms with approximately one-half of the Board members standing for re-election each April at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The school Director is an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees. An extremely important way for parents to have very direct input into Board decisions is to volunteer to serve on one of the School Board standing committees.
The Board has two permanent standing Committees, each chaired by a Board member:
The Governance & Policy Committee (GPC) monitors the regulations pertaining to the operation, development, and long term planning for ISPP. They recommend changes to Policy relevant to current practice or need and regularly review current Policies. This committee also coordinates the identification, cultivation, recruitment, and orientation of new board members; facilitates board self-assessment; identifies the board's needs for education and training, and designs vehicles to meet those needs; and organizes the recognition of individual board members. The committee identifies nominees for election or appointment to the Board of Trustees and oversees
The Finance, Facilities & Resources Committee (FFRC) monitors the budget and facilities planning and use. This committee is responsible for ensuring the financial stability of the school and making financially sound plans for the future sustainability of the institution.
