In order to keep parents fully informed and engaged in their child's learning, we have regular communication between home and school.
The following communications are produced on a regular basis:
Toddle posts provide an overview of learning in the classroom, unit of inquiry information, additional resources to consolidate learning, and home learning assignments in the event of school closure.
Toddle announcements are sent from the Principal and/or Elementary Office to inform parents of events, and other school-related news and issues.
Toddle weekly announcements are sent by the homeroom teachers to inform families of current learning.
Weekly Announcements are sent by email from the Central Office every Friday afternoon and provide information for parents about events that are happening at school.
A written report on student progress is provided at the end of each semester for all students EY - G5. Parent conferences (settling in conferences, three-way conferences, and student-led conferences) are held throughout the year, as published in the school calendar.
Teachers are happy to be consulted at any time; however, as they teach throughout the school day, parents are asked either to message them via Toddle for an appointment or to arrange an appointment through the Elementary Office.
Toddle is the primary channel of communication within the Elementary School. If families have a question, comment, or concern, we will always do our best to address it promptly and aim to respond within 24 hours during the working week.
Please refer to the following communication guidelines:
Questions regarding your child’s general academic or social progress:
Please contact or arrange an appointment with the relevant teacher (your child’s homeroom or single-subject teacher). Please message via Toddle.
Questions about the curriculum or curriculum development:
Please contact or arrange an appointment with the PYP Coordinator, Anika Sommer, via Toddle.
Concerns regarding a teacher or instructional practices:
Please contact the Elementary School Office to arrange an appointment with the Principal, Liz Ford, or contact Liz directly via Toddle.
Questions regarding the After School Programme (ASP):
Please contact the ASP Coordinator, Zsuzsa Barta, via email.
If you are unsure who to contact:
Please reach out to the Elementary Office staff, who will be happy to direct your query to the appropriate person.
To help us communicate effectively and ensure student safety, please ensure that the Elementary Office always has up-to-date contact information, including your address, home and mobile telephone numbers, work contact details, emergency contact information, and email address. If any of these details change, please inform the school as soon as possible.
