PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT

At ISPP, we value the relationships within the school and our community. These relationships strengthen our school community, and foster a positive and supportive environment for our students and their families.

We value and encourage the participation of all parents and guardians in the day-to-day life at ISPP, and our campus is open for families to enjoy different learning, sports and community activities and events. 

This Parent and Guardian Code of Conduct supports our intention to provide a welcoming, open and safe environment for all of our ISPP community members. All parents are required to sign the Parent and Guardian Code of Conduct upon enrolment of their child(ren).

 Expected Behaviour 

The ISPP Guiding Statements serve to encompass and clarify the values of ISPP. They exhibit the principles by which the ISPP community conducts itself. We expect our parents, faculty, staff and students to:

• treat all members of the ISPP community with respect and dignity;

• use courteous and acceptable written and spoken language when communicating with each other; and

• give encouraging and constructive feedback rather than negative criticism.

 Unacceptable Behaviour 

• Behaviour which disrupts any normal operations or activities anywhere on the ISPP campus, at the front of the school, or at a school-sponsored event, including sporting activities and other school events. 

• Any inappropriate behaviour on the campus or at a school-sponsored event, including using loud or offensive language, or displaying anger or aggressiveness. 

• Threatening a member of faculty, staff, visitor, parent/carer or child, in any way. 

• Damaging or destroying school property.

• Sending abusive or threatening emails or SMS messages or other written communications (including social media) to anyone within the ISPP community.

• Defamatory, offensive or derogatory comments regarding students, staff, other parents, or any ISPP community member in the traditional media, social media or other websites.

• Using traditional media, social media or other websites to publicly challenge school policies or decisions, or discuss issues about individual students, faculty, staff or other parents. 

• The use of physical, verbal, or written aggression towards another adult or child, including physical punishment of your own child.

• Approaching someone else’s child in order to discuss or chastise them for their behaviour, including their behaviour towards your child. 

• Smoking, the consumption of illegal drugs or alcohol on school premises (alcohol may only be consumed during authorised events).

• No weapons are to be carried by parents, guardians, or any person. External security staff / bodyguards are not permitted on campus.

• Breaching or ignoring school security procedures or safety regulations in school facilities, or not following staff directions regarding security or safety. 

These conditions apply to parents, guardians, nannies, drivers and any other carer who has access to the school premises. It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to inform their representatives of the Parent and Guardian Code of Conduct.

Action taken against breaches of Parent and Guardian Code of Conduct

• Parents and guardians may be asked to leave the school campus.

• Parents and guardians may be banned from the school campus, temporarily or permanently. 

• In case of continued or serious breaches of the Parent and Guardian Code of Conduct, enrolment of their child(ren) may be cancelled.
