Pupils will be taught:
use fieldwork to observe, measure, record and present the human and physical features in the local area using a range of methods, including sketch maps, plans and graphs, and digital technologies.
There are two different types of data qunatitative and qualitative.
We have been collecting data to see how many people wanted to improve the roads in Hoo. We presented this in a bar graph.
This data looked at the population in England and Wales. People would need to know this so that they know how busy it is there. I think the population will continue to grow.
Pupils will be taught to describe and understand
human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water
Impact of humans on the world
Here are some of our books from geography lessons about environmental issues
We thought about human impact in the environment and the impact on living things.
One of the tasks we completed was looking at data about the temperature of the world. This helped us to see how the temperature has increased over 50 years. We considered what the earth might look like in 50 years time.
These could be competed digitally or on paper.
Deforestation
We considered what deforestation was and the impact of this on crops and animals.
We also considered the impact of this on the habitats.
We listed the impact on tables. We worked collaboratively to complete the table using our own knowledge and from the board.
