Module 5
This module the children had fun programming their micro:bits. They could create a new programme for the device using their knowledge and test it by transferring their programme to a controllable device. They were able to update a variable with a user input and use a conditional statement to change a variable.
Module 4
This module we have learnt that a 'variable' is something that is changeable; a variable can be set and changed; an existing variable can be modified. We have also learnt how variables are updated and the importance of naming them carefully. We were able to set variables and experiment with them.
Module 3
In this unit we will explore how data is transferred over the internet. We shall investigate the makeup and structure of data packets. Also, we shall explore how the internet allows online communication and collaboration.
Module 2
This module we have been introduced to spreadsheets. We have organised data into columns and rows to create our own data set. We have also been taught the importance of formatting data to support calculations, while also being introduced to formulas and understand how they can be used to produce calculated data. We have been taught how to apply formulas that include a range of cells, and apply formulas to multiple cells by duplicating them. We have created charts, and can evaluate our results in comparison to questions asked.
