CFI students in Ms. Palmer's class took part in an exciting, hands-on STEM project! They were “hired” as a team of engineers to design a brand-new roller coaster. The challenge? Create a ride that is thrilling, safe, and energy efficient.
Students began by sketching their designs on paper and then built 3D models of their roller coasters. Thanks to the generous support of the engineering firm Schnabel, which donated many of the necessary supplies, students could work in collaborative teams to bring their ideas to life.
This project spanned two months in the classroom alongside their regular assignments.
Through teamwork, creativity, and plenty of trial and error, each group brought their ideas to life. Their final projects were on display at the Student Expo, and students were proud to show off what they created.
