Black History 2024

Rolfe participated in a variety of Black History Month activities this year. In the history classes, every student researched a different influential Black person and created a poster for display in the building. The halls were filled with so much interesting information and images. Some students in Ms. Bennet's classes tried their hands at coding and made their posters interactive with sound and touch.

In the English classes students toured the John Rolfe Black History museum. This was the brain child of 7th grade teacher Ms. Taylor. Students viewed various historical artifacts important in Black history. They consisted of arts, writings, music and more. Students then reflected on these objects and their deeper meaning before starting their next project.

See some of these interesting experiences below!
