Flautist Arianna C. represented John Rolfe middle school at the District 1 honor band concert held at Highland Springs HS in February. Arianna auditioned in December to be a part of this group and made the cut! She rehearsed along with hundreds of other exceptional musicians for countless hours to put on an amazing performance!
What a night! The Rolfe chorus put on a fabulous show with group performances, solos and student created special performance projects. Mr. Baugh and the chorus did a fantastic job! If you weren't there you missed out!
Our Symphonic Band managed to pull off Superior ratings from all judges in stage performance at the VBODA district 1 band assessments! They also received a rating of s "Good" in sight reading! With the snow days, water crisis, minimal practice time, and other challenges against them, we know we will come back for that top sight reading score next year! In the meantime, we celebrate sweeping the stage in grade 2 literature for
an overall Excellent score!
The drama club put on two performances this year with A Charlie Brown Christmas in December and Mean Girls Jr. in May. It was plain to see that they have worked extremely hard for months from the songs to the sets and lighting. Great work all and we can’t wait for next year’s shows!
Congratulations to the John Rolfe Jaguar Music Department for sweeping the Kings Dominion Festival of music stages on May 23rd! Both the Band and Chorus received Superior ratings from judges at the event for the second year in a row! Way to go musical Jaguars, we are extremely proud of you!
