The LifeReady '25 Learning Exhibition is a long standing tradition in Henrico schools (formerly known as Henrico21). This year the county-wide event was held at the Henrico Sports and Recreation Center on March 26th.
Ms. Balderson's and Ms. Nelson's Health & PE students were the Rolfe chosen representatives with their lesson "Health Apps for All!" Citizenship with empathetic design was their focus as they designed health apps for a persona's specific needs. They presented these designs to the ACE Center at Hermitage to a Shark Tank panel of high school students and faced grilling questions. This happened in November.
Ms. Palmer, Ms. Caple, and Ms. Parsley's 7th graders created a cross curricular lesson with presentation of learning. This was part of HCPS's Microcredential program. They revamped the school's community garden to address food insecurity while partnering with Malique Middleton, an expert from VCU's da Vinci Center. They started an indoor garden and prepared our outdoor garden. The students planted lettuce, kale, cucumber, parsley, basil, and sunflower seeds inside paper towel rolls to reuse and recycle for their seedlings. They also visited Babylon Microfarms to explore advanced hydroponic systems for indoor plant growth.
