Students learned the art of interviewing and the background work for creating a podcast. The podcast series "In the Middle of It All @ Rolfe" was expanded this year and featured new interviews conducted by Rolfe students. The group learned how to interview in a workshop with Varina's Center for Communications and Media Relations specialty center students. They took those skills to air as they developed interview questions and flow. They also completed a large group Reader's Theater with 13 students recording, editing, creating imagery and sound effects. These podcasts feature many talents of our students as the intro music featured was created by 7th graders that were a part of Ms. Franklin's exploratory class the previous year.

Behind the Scenes: Workshop with Varina HS Center for Communcations Students
CFCMR students (and some former Rolfe students) share about their experiences in the center. They showed some of their work and students could ask questions.
The group compiled a top tips list of things learned that day for future podcasts.
After working with the professional equipment, the club tried out Adobe Podcast where they can make any podcast on their own, anytime, anywhere!
After the workshop, Senai and Haven interview the center students about tips for podcasting and being successful.
Reader's Theaters: "Three Sideways Stories from Wayside School," "Talk," and a Behind the Scenes Interview
The groups recorded two different Reader's Theaters this year. This is the first time we have taken on this type of recording. They learned how to work and share the mics as well as act with feeling.
Editing was extremely important in this process. The group learned about collaborating together on a complex task with AI imagery made in Adobe Express, creating pictures to tell the story, adding sound effects and music in WeVideo. Overall this project took a total of three months with many contributors. It was completed entirely during lunches and Advisory, so the students made sure it was a success.
Ja'Mya records an intro for "Talk."
Jabril edits a complex timeline in WeVideo.
