All work samples must be secular.
*If your student is enrolled in a course that studies religion that must be clear on the Master Agreement as well as the work sample. The most common examples of an approved work sample would be a comparison various religions through the years or how religions played parts in the History of our world. Please make sure that if your child is studying the history of religions your CST is well aware ahead of time.
Works samples should be a glimpse at the work completed within that learning period for that subject and not the entirety of the work done in that learning period.
Students in TK-8th grade must submit at least 1 work sample per LP from one of the core subjects listed on the Master Agreement. Subjects are outlined on the Learning Period Dates.
Students in 9-12th grade must submit 1 work sample for each subject listed on their master agreement at every LP.
Needs to relate to standards for the grade level of the child unless child has an IEP
If submitting a list of answers, the questions must also be submitted
When using workbooks as samples, you may be using this workbook for the entire year but it is not ideal to send in consecutive pages over multiple LPs. EX LP1 math pages 5,6, and 7, LP4 pages 8, 9 and 10
Video and powerpoint projects are permitted for work samples as long as they are directly addressing a specific course listed on your master agreement
If you and the student are submitting a photo image of an activity, please make sure that it is accompanied by written content explaining the relation to a course listed on the Master Agreement as well as details on what the student is learning in the photo.
We recommend for TK-2nd grade students that the student attempt written content and the parent submits clear details (if the student is not writing in full sentences)
For 3rd grade students and higher, we recommend that the students provide the majority of the written content. If it is necessary for the parent to provide additional details explaining course relation, please do so.
Students in TK-2nd grade may submit:
letter/number writing practice
Main lesson book pages
Videos of the child practicing the alphabet, sight words
Evidence of spelling tests and practice throughout the LP/week, these must show progress throughout the LP/week
