All students in grades 3-12 enrolled at Heartwood Charter School are required to complete the STAR ELA and the STAR Math assessments twice annually. Assessments must be completed by the last day in September and the last day in Jaunary. These dates align with our Semesters and give students ample time to prepare for Statewide Testing (if they are eligible) in May.
By completing the assessments our Admin Staff as well as our team of Teachers are able to better track a child's academic progress and report it back to the Department of Education. Heartwood Charter School is also required to provide this information to our Authorizer when requested and upon recharter.
