My interests based on a quiz I completed:
Ty1's work experience commences November 9th, and is the duration of a week.
I was lucky to attain work in my local creche, however there are still guidelines I must follow due to Covid-19's unwillingness to budge.
Mr.Kiely helped me to become Garda vetted, so I can work with children.
In Career Guidance class, we signed up to Careers Portal. This is a website that creates a survey, and based on your results, matches you to college courses that would pique your interest.
The highest categories I scored in were Linguistic, Social and Natural.
We also filled out CV's and documents on areas of interest.
My work experience was sadly cancelled due to the new level 5 Covid-19 restrictions that were implemented in November.
However, those that could not get work experience or those whose work was cancelled, could spend the week at school participating in a HSA (Health and Safety Authority) course or carrying out jobs for teachers.
I really enjoyed the course, as refrained in my presentation. I also learned many useful skills that I can apply in the workplace in the future.
We viewed the Erasmus website, to see whether some of us might consider going to a college abroad for the future.
We also looked at UL and NUIG TY taster days - these were happening online during lockdown, as there are no campuses open for events.
I will hopefully be doing my final week of work experience at 'Sonas' in Newcastle west.
