We had Mr.O'Grady for TY Accountancy.
I don't particularly enjoy maths, and I assumed accountancy comprised of calculations only, however I was surprisingly wrong!
In the end, I found the classes to be quite useful and practical, and I learned some interesting things.
We were asked to choose any baked good and list its ingredients, (I chose scones).
Then, we had to scower the 'Tesco' website, noting the prices and quantities for each ingredient.
Finally, we needed to find the cost per unit for each ingredient - accounting for the entire batch.
I then included the average wage and electricity costs into my calculation, before declaring it the break-even figure.
Each student had to create an account on 'How the Market Works'.
Here, we learned about what a stock is, investments, personal finances and the fundamentals of marketing.
