A word from your Proud Principal Mrs. Garcia:
A positive school culture provides support through encouraging relationships and healthy communication among students, staff, and parents. Having a positive climate impacts how safe students feel in the classroom environment, directly influencing their success. At Beaver, we strive to have a positive environment for children. Parents are an important part of our positive culture. Our goal is to partner with parents to help build the culture. Thank you to all the parents that are so willing to support our campus. Creative Parents needed...
In the month of October and November, Beaver has been selected as a campus to host several schools from other states to learn about the great things happening at Beaver. Our visitors are educators and they are wanting to learn about what makes Beaver so successful. So, I am needing parents to help with preparation for these visits. The teachers are working hard to make sure their classrooms and lessons are ready to show off! I need parents to help with preparing the building to welcome visitors. We want the visitors to leave with a clear understanding that what makes Beaver so special are our kids and the people that love Beaver!
So, if you love to decorate and creating things...this job is for you!!!

Counselor Corner
WOW Time
Every month students come to the WOW Room for a class with the counselor! We call this WOW Time, which stands for Working on Wellness.
In August, students were introduced to the school counseling program and learned how the School Counselor can help them.
In September, students are learning how to improve their study skills, which will help their grades and increase learning. Here is what each grade level is focusing on:
Kindergarten - Being a whole body listener
1st grade - Learning with our eyes, ears, mouth, and brains
2nd grade - Using time wisely
3rd grade - Giving our best effort
4th grade - Using time wisely
5th grade - Learning styles
Tips for Parents and Families:
This is a great time of year to set goals with your child! Talk with your child about what they want to accomplish this semester or school year.
Set an academic goal and a personal goal with your child. Make sure it is realistic and attainable. Choose one or two to focus on!
Example goals:
Academic:
I want to get all As and Bs on my report card.
I want to grow 7 points on my reading MAP test.
I want to make Masters on my Math STAAR test.
I want to read 20 minutes a day.
Personal:
I want to learn how to ride my bike by the summer.
I will practice soccer twice a week.
I will learn a new song on the piano.
I want to ten new words in Spanish.
