STEAM SCHOOL Registration!
Parents,
We are excited to kickoff our elective program, STEAM School! The purpose of this program is to provide students with unique extracurricular opportunities beyond traditional learning experiences. The program supports a 21st century learning environment with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
To help us with the registration process, please be sure students select their top three choices. Information and descriptions are available in the Beaver STEAM School Catalog.
Register your student for the STEAM School of their choice starting on 9/4. Registration window is open from 9/4-9/7.
The link for STEAM School registration will be sent out on Monday, 9/4 via School wide Dojo and Skyward email.
The fall semester STEAM School starts 9/16.
Thank you to the parents of Kamyla and Karyna
In the newsletter last week, we asked for a parent to volunteer to purchase and dress up in the Captain Underpants blow up costume. This will be a part of the surprise for the winners of the challenge! The parents of Kamyla and Karyna Padilla-Ruiz have volunteered! THANK YOU!! The kids are going to be so excited!!
We are always looking for fun and engaging ways to work with our students. Having 550 kids share a restroom can make it difficult to keep them clean and safe. So, we teach our students how to respect the space we share and how to respect each other. These challenges help make the learning fun.
Parents are an important part of this, so we appreciate all the help we get!
Thank you to our volunteers & PTA!
A huge thank you to our PTA for renting the slides for our students!
This was such a fun and exciting day for the kids and the staff.
Class Dojo is helping connect our families to our campus and giving them a window into the great things happening here.
CEP forms are what determines our economically disadvantaged percentage of students. That percentage has an effect on our school funding and our accountability. So, with the water slides incentive, the students have fun and the campus is supported.
Campus Updates
One of the many things we have been working on is having the appearance of the campus match the amazing things happening here! Beaver was built in 1960 and has so much character. It’s a great place and we want to continue to show our building love. Check out the updated wall!

Counselor Corner
At Beaver Tech, we spend a lot of time preparing our students for their futures! One way we do this is by celebrating College Week on September 11-15. We'll be spreading a lot of College Knowledge during this week to get our students thinking about college! Check out our Spirit Days flier, so your student can dress up during College Week!
Mon. 9/11: We can't hide our college pride! Wear your favorite college shirt or favorite college colors!
Tues. 9/12: We're wild about college! Wear animal print or a shirt with animals on it!
Wed. 9/13: Our teachers went to college, so can we! Wear your teacher's college colors!
Thurs. 9/14: Our future is bright! Wear bright, neon colors and sunglasses!
Fri. 9/15: We can SPOT our future college! Wear clothes that have dots on them!
Tips for Parents and Families:
It's never too early to start talking about your child's future! Here are some ways to start the conversation:
Encourage your student to interview a family member about his/her experience in college, the military or the workforce.
Discuss the many different occupations you see people perform in your community. Tell them the type of post-secondary requirements certain jobs need (for example: To be an electrician, you need to take classes at a trade school and pass a certification test. To be a pediatrician, you need to go to college and medical school).
Ask your child to identify what tasks different jobs are responsible for (for example, What is the mail carrier responsible for doing? What is the manager of the grocery store responsible for doing at work?
Discuss your child's goals for their future. What do they dream of doing after high school? Do they want to go to college? If so, what kind of college would they like to attend?
