Athletics

The athletics program at FIS is an excellent platform for students to develop fundamental movement and team skills across multiple sports.

The teams, athletes, and staff within the Athletics Program are collectively known as the FIS Sharks.  The Sharks are a source of pride for the school and student-athletes are well-supported by fellow students, staff and the wider FIS community in their athletic endeavors.  FIS is a member of the Western Japan Athletics Association (WJAA) and regularly sends teams to WJAA tournaments to compete against other international schools.  FIS is also a member of EAISAC which includes schools in Japan, Korea and Mongolia.

The predominant codes at FIS include volleyball, basketball, soccer, and badminton.  There are a limited number of positions on our traveling teams but all FIS students have numerous opportunities to participate in Athletics as part of the ASA Program.

Elementary students are able to participate in a year-long Elementary Athletics Program (held as part of our ASA Program).
