School Calendar
The school year runs from late August to mid-June. The school year is divided into two semesters with at least 180 teaching and learning days and two main vacation periods. To view the full calendar, please click here.

Secondary students should arrive by 07:55am and make their way directly to their homeroom classrooms, prior to homeroom class beginning at 08:00am. Students should not arrive at school before 07:45am (unless for a scheduled activity), as the grounds are closed and there is no supervision available until this time.
The front gate will be closed to secondary students at 8.00am.
After 8.00am if a student is NOT in your homeroom mark them as ABSENT.
Any students arriving after the gate has closed at 8.00am must report to reception and sign in. If they arrive at school before the gate is closed and are late to homeroom for other reasons, please mark them as LATE.
Reception will mark the student as LATE for homeroom in ManageBac after they sign in.
If a late student arrives at homeroom after signing in and has been marked as late please do not change their status to present in the homeroom register.
If parents wish to speak to teachers before school starts, they should recognize that all classes start on time and that the teacher may be doing preparation to ensure the successful start to the day. When a meeting is scheduled, parking passes are available. For lengthy discussions, please contact teachers via email to schedule an appointment.
After School: We use a ‘pick-up’ routine in the afternoon to ensure safety for all students. The school does not provide supervision in the playground after school. Secondary students are expected to leave campus immediately after class dismissal. In order to facilitate the beginning of the FICS school day, all Secondary students and parents are to leave the school premises by 16:00pm, if they are not in a recognized after school activity.
Grade 9 - 12 students are allowed to work in the upper lobby after school (except on Wednesdays) if they notify the office through the sign up sheet. Students must sit no more than 3 to a table. They must leave campus before 18:00pm.
Wednesdays are staff professional development meetings therefore all students must leave immediately at the 15:30pm dismissal time.
