Student Accounts

Student accounts

  • Students may receive individual accounts for various computers, programmes, services, or other resources. These accounts may be limited by course or grade level. When a student withdraws from FIS, the student is expected to cease use of any FIS accounts.

Account safety

  • If students receive messages that are inappropriate or make them uncomfortable, they must not delete any of this material and must report it immediately to a teacher.

  • Individuals must keep their own accounts safe by setting up original passwords. Passwords must not be shared with any others. Students should change their passwords regularly.

  • Students are expected not to share accounts. Using another student’s account for certain purposes, such as but not limited to concealing the user’s identity, may be considered a serious offense.

  • Students are allowed to use USB drives or similar external storage devices. Students are responsible for scanning their storage devices for viruses before they are used on school computers. Students and families may be held responsible for damages to school equipment that result from unsafe use of infected storage devices.
