Leaving School During the School Day

Leaving School During the School Day

Medical/Dental appointments during school hours should be avoided if at all possible. The school must have been informed by note to the class/homeroom teacher via ManageBac that the student has permission from his/her parents to leave. Students leaving school before the dismissal time for medical/dental appointments must then sign out at the front door.

In the Elementary School, students who must leave the premises for matters such as dental and medical appointments need to have the permission of their classroom teacher as well as be checked out by the front office and collected by their parents.

In the Middle School (G6-10), no student may leave the school grounds during school hours without the approval of the Principal or Head of School.  In order for a student to leave the grounds for any purpose, parents need to call the office or send written permission via ManageBac.  For those students who have received permission for SA purposes to leave the school premises they must sign the record book at the front door on exit and re-entry.

Please note that students are not permitted to leave school early or during the school day to participate in extra-curricular activities outside of FIS.
