WESTERN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS & COLLEGES
Since 1989 Fukuoka International School has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), which is the official accrediting body for American overseas schools in East Asia and the Pacific Area.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB)
Fukuoka International School was authorized to offer the IB Diploma Program (DP) in 2007, the Primary Years Program (PYP) in 2014, and the Middle Years Program (MYP) in 2019. FIS is the first school in Kyushu to become an IB World School (offering all three IB programs).
GAKKO HOJIN
Fukuoka International School was accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education as a School Juridical Body, "Gakko Hojin" in 1988.
EARCOS
Fukuoka International School became a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) in 1987.
JCIS
Fukuoka International School became a member of the Japan Council of International Schools (JCIS) in 1974.
