Dress Code & PE Requirements

FIS does not have a school uniform, but it does have a dress code.  Students are responsible for being neat, clean and appropriately dressed so as not to offend any of our attending populations. The essence of our dress code is that all community members should dress in order to show respect to all for the varied cultures on our campus, represent the FIS mission statement and ethos, and be safe.

To represent FIS, It is expected that students will demonstrate respect for cultural differences and sensitivity, which will be reflected in their choice of dress for school. Neat and clean attire should be selected appropriate for the classroom so as not to detract from the learning environment. This may include shirts, short-sleeved T-shirts, blouses, polo shirts and tailored clothing whether shorts, slacks, dresses, pinafore dresses or culottes. The leadership team is ultimately responsible for determining what is considered appropriate wear for school.

For safety, students are to wear covered shoes in all science labs to protect their feet in case of accidents. Students are not to wear flip-flops at school, although they may wear other appropriate summer sandals.

PE requirements

All students who access the gym for PE lessons or sports practices must have non-marking shoes. All secondary students are also required to purchase an FIS Sports Shirt through our online uniform store
