I sent home SASD's 2nd snow day packet in the kids' folders. I hope we won't need them anymore this year, but since we used the first packet, the second one needs to go home. Please keep them in a safe spot in case we end up needing them.
Some have asked for our classroom Amazon wishlist so here you go! https://a.co/alUSQxG
If you would like to volunteer during our classroom reading block, and have an approved background check, you can sign up to volunteer HERE.

If you would like to work on math at home, page 95-104 in your child's pink math notebook cover current skills. I also sent home the April reading log before break.
We tested our latest engineering projects! Before break we built new shelters for the 3 Little Pigs to protect them from the Big Bad Wolf. We used a hair dryer to see if we could blow the shelters down.
We also started our last fairy tale story, The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. We read a few versions of the story and documented the characters and setting in our PBL notebooks.
Our writing time has shifted into differientiated instruction for the last trimester of school. I am calling small groups over during our writing time each day to teach small group lessons that work on that group's specific needs. Some of our groups are continuing to work on single sentence mechanics and sounding out. Other groups are working on paragraph writing!
In math, we moved on to a short unit about coins. So far we have learned about pennies and nickels. Coins are used in kindergarten to reinforce adding fives and ones.
