If you would like to work on math at home, practice measuring the length of things and comparing them. You can do non-standard measurements (such as measuring with paperclips, coins, cubes, legos , etc.) or use a ruler. Practice measuring two objects and comparing their lengths (which is shorter? which is longer?)
We've been having a lot of fun playing Blackout in gym class. We hope you are able to join us for Blackout night on Tuesday, March 17th!
We've been building our new shelters for the 3 Little Pigs. We're just adding the final details and then we'll test them out using the "Big Bad Wolf" blowdryer!
We had a guest reader visit kindergarten! Mr. Hanlon works at Étude Middle and High School. He teaches drama and is the Dean of Culture. He came to read a 3 Little Pigs architecture book to the kids.
We have been working on our measuring skills some more. We made Measurement Gardens to practice putting items from shortest to tallest. We then measured how tall each plant was using our cubes. We also practiced measuring things with partners and documenting our measurements.
We had some special reading time with Mrs. Halverson's class while kids were being pulled over to the other classroom to engineer their shelters. It was nice getting the chance to spend time with the other kids!
One of our writing prompts was to send Mrs. Halverson and I on an adventure.
We got to have some choice times with Mrs. Halverson's kindergarten class. The kids did so great naturally pairing up with kids they don't normally get to spend time with!
