In your child's Friday folder I have included an optional September home learning log if you want to track when you do work at home. I have also sent home an alphabet chart since our September literacy is all about learning the letter names and sounds. Lastly, if you would like to work on math at home, pages 1-2 in your child's pink math notebook cover current skills.
Please remember to send a snack to school every day.
Library books should be returned by Friday every week. If your child returns their book, they can choose a new one. Folders should also be returned by Friday.
If you would like to volunteer in our classroom this year, please fill out the background check form HERE. We will start classroom volunteers in October!

In math, we continued exploring math tools during work place games.
During our number corner time, we have been looking at shape patterns, making predictions, and tracking how many days we've been in school.
In literacy, we learned about the letters Aa, Mm, Ss, Tt, and Pp. We've added letter formation lessons and independent work into our literacy block.
In movement class, the kids have been learning how to use their bodies to create different shapes and lines. They will use this knowledge later on when they begin choreographing their insect dance.
We officially began our insect study by brainstorming what we already know about insects.
We received a mystery package in the mail filled with many things including some bugs!
We've been looking closely at our bugs and documenting our observations and predictions of what we think they could be.
