Kindergarten DOES NOT have an Exhibition of Learning on Monday. The rest of 1st-5th grades do. We are going to watch one so the kindergartners have a better understanding of EoLs before theirs in January!
If you would like to volunteer during our classroom reading block, and have an approved background check, you can sign up to volunteer HERE. It automatically sends me an email when you sign up so there is no need to tell me as well. When you arrive to volunteer, stop in the office to sign in and grab a visitor badge before you come to the classroom. You will need to return the badge and sign out when you leave.Â
CLICK HERE if you would like to view the school lunch menu.Â
If you would like to work on math at home, page 35-40 in your child's pink math notebook cover current skills.Â
After learning about insect attributes, the kindergartners had to use their new knowledge to create an insect using maker materials. Everyone's insect had to have a head, thorax, abdomen, antennae, 6 legs, and eyes (there's a couple kids still finishing theirs up!)
We began one of our final projects -- our Eric Carle inspired insects! We don't want to show you the final insects until our Presentations of Learning, but here's a sneak peek.
In literacy block, we started incorporating new writing journals. The kids have been doing a really nice job focusing on their letter formation and adding detailed illustrations. I've also included some videos from our reading group time to give you ideas for practicing at home. In math, we learned how to visually represent numbers using tally marks. We've also been working on writing addition equations.
We enjoyed the beautiful weather this week with a hike and play time in the woods.
