A lecture is a discourse within a certain area of law given by a speaker with a professional or academic background. The topic is discussed in a plenary. It may be a separate project or be part of a larger whole.

A seminar is an event, which consists of several lectures about a legal topic or field of law. The topic is discussed in a plenary.

Study Visits

A Study Visit is an event organised by one Local or National Group and at least one other Local or National Group of ELSA or the partner associations of ELSA aiming for an academic, social and cultural exchange through means of sharing cultural experiences and exchange of legal knowledge.

Categories of Study Visits

• unilateral: one Group visits another

• bilateral: two Groups visits each other

• multilateral: several Groups visits another

Requirements of Study Visits

Study Visit shall

• involve at least five participants per participating Group,

• be comprised of an academic, social and cultural programme,

• have the academic programme with an average duration of a minimum of three hours per day,

• have defined responsibilities of participating Groups in the Study Visit Agreement.
