Visual Communication Design

COURSE CONTENT

Theory

Students will learn how to analyse Visual Communication using the elements and principles of design. Students will study the role of a graphic designer and understand professional practice. 

Practical

Students will learn to design and create 1 & 2 point perspective drawings. They will learn how to create surface textures through rendering and shading. Students will understand how to create an orthogonal drawing using correct drawing methods and conventions. They will take on the role of a designer and complete a design for a particular design field. Students work from a brief and use the design process to develop designs using Adobe PhotoShop and/or Illustrator for a final presentation.
