COURSE CONTENT

Theory

Students will learn about different artists and art styles such as Modernism, Pop Art and Surrealism. 

They will learn about different types of gallery spaces, the curating of exhibition spaces and the conservation of art.

Students will undertake a written exam at the end of the semester based on the artists and art styles they have covered throughout the semester, and curatorial and conservation responsibilities. 

Practical

Students will create number of artworks based on an artist and/ or an art style that they have studied throughout the semester. 

They will create a folio based on their own individual theme or topic. They will develop ideas in their folio that explore a range of mediums and techniques, finally resolve their ideas in a finished artwork.
