COURSE CONTENT

Theory

In this subject students will begin to build a foundation into the concepts of VCE Physics. Physics seeks to understand and explain the physical world, examining models and ideas used to make sense of the world. Students will cover the topics of Newton’s laws of motion, heat transfer, electric circuits and magnetism. By looking at the way matter and energy interact through observations, measurements and experiments, physicists gain a better understanding of the underlying laws of nature.

Practical

Practical activities include: investigating motion with ticker-timers, investigating the applications of magnets, building and analysing electrical circuits, examining the influences of heat transfer and determining efficiency of insulating materials.
