COURSE CONTENT

Theory

Students will begin to build a foundation into the concepts of VCE Chemistry. Students will look at atomic theory, trends of the periodic table, different types of chemical bonds, chemical reactions and chemistry calculations. Students will use a range of practical activities incorporating the theory being learnt, allowing students to understand and consolidate their knowledge through the power of observation.

Practical

Practical activities include chemical investigations into electrical conductivity of different substances, observation of different chemical reactions, investigating different effects on rate of reaction, investigating law of conservation and applying that to chemical calculations.
