COURSE CONTENT
Theory
Students will learn the scientific principles associated with the intriguing world of Crime Scene Investigation. They will explore the basis of entering and processing a crime scene, types of evidence including genetic evidence (DNA, DNA profiling, blood, toxicology) and types of physical evidence (impressions, handwriting and forgery).
Practical
Practical activities include: DNA extraction, hair and fiber, identification, blood spatter, blood typing, chromatography, handwriting analysis and fingerprint analysis.

Forensic Science does not exist at VCE, though this subject will support other VCE science subjects.
