COURSE CONTENT

Theory

• Investigating & Designing

• Students learn about the the Design Brief

• Sketching & drawing techniques

• Planning materials, parts & tools lists

• Comparing final product with preferred option

• Analysing and Evaluating

Practical

Students are required to complete a practical project based on the theoretical component of the subject. 

The project DOES NOT START until the theory is completed as this includes OH&S. 

The practical project:

• Produce and design an item out of timber

Course fee: $100 per student per semester will be applicable to cover the cost of material used.

Homestead Senior provides a standard curriculum which is available to all students free of charge. Specialist subjects are in addition to the standard curriculum at Year 10 and for the sustainability of these courses, a family contribution is required.

To reserve your child’s place in this course, the college requires a minimum of 60% deposit, payable during course counseling appointment. Without a deposit, the college may allocate the place to another student.

Please note: CSEF can be used and payment plans can be organised via the front office.
