COMPULSORY SUBJECTS
English and Maths are compulsory and run for the entire year.
English (compulsory)
Students must complete two units of English/EAL
(one each semester)
EAL at VCE has eligibility requirements.
Maths (compulsory)
Students must complete Maths in Year 10 and will study one of the following options:
Maths: Two units per year (one each semester) and/or
Advanced Maths: Two units per year (one each semester)
VCE Readiness and Advancement Test and end of year
PAT testing will determine if advanced Maths is an
option.
We strongly advise families who are considering applying for select entry schools to also complete the enrollment process with Homestead and any relevant testing. This step is crucial to avoid any potential disappointment.
Only one opportunity will be provided for students to sit the VCE Readiness and Advancement Test to complete Advanced Maths.
Missing the scheduled test will result in students not being considered for Advanced Maths in Year 10 for Semester 1
Please refer to the “Maths” section for further information.
