Ressun lukio includes two schools: the upper secondary school delivering the national curriculum that prepares our students for the Finnish matriculation exam, as well as the Diploma programme for the students taking the International Baccalaureate exam. International-mindedness is in the centre of our school environment, in daily life as well as in celebrations and events, where the national curriculum students and IB students stand side-by-side building our multicultural traditions. Many languages can be heard in the school's corridors, and our students also use their international and language skills in the school's many clubs and extracurricular activities, which are often run parallel in Finnish and English.
The education at Ressun lukio and Finland's ranking in international studies are of interest to many international visitors. Whenever possible, Ressu teachers and students provide an insight into their experience as students and educators.
In addition to individual visits, the core of our international relations includes liaising with a number of partner schools, in order to develop and support international-mindedness of Ressu students and staff. Our highly-motivated students and teachers have established and maintained relationships with schools worldwide, including France, Germany, Estonia, England, Russia and China, where our students have taken part in exchange programs with two university high schools in Beijing. In our two-way exchange programs, young people get to experience each other's lives and school work and build bridges across language and cultural boundaries. In accordance with the Finnish upper secondary school curriculum, Ressu students develop social skills and practice their global citizenship, cultural and language skills also outside their home communities.
