New Immunization Requirements

Varicella (chicken pox) immunity, either from vaccination, history of the disease, or laboratory testing for new school enterers (Kindergarten or first-grade) and students entering the seventh-grade; and three doses of hepatitis B vaccine (for students entering the seventh-grade). For more information, call your child's school nurse.


Children in ALL grades (K-12) need the following vaccines:

 Age appropriate dose of varicella (chicken pox) vaccine or history of disease

Any student who has not submitted proof of immunization will not be allowed to attend school. The only way a child can be excused from this directive is if a parent files with the district an exception for religious reasons, or if a physician signs the immunization certificate that the immunization is not medically advisable.

Parents can make arrangements with their doctor or the free clinic which is held every Monday at Pennsylvania Department of Health. The Health Department asks that parents bring the child's up-to-date immunization record with them. Proof of complete immunization must be returned to the child's school nurse
